Bull Shoals Bridge Project traffic impacts!

18836887_759021917640779_4273137493439156551_oForsyth MO – After years of delays and planning, a new 10.4 million dollar bridge will be erected right next to one built in 1951 and which is becoming potentially unsafe to handle heavy traffic loads! The construction effort, spearheaded by MODOT, will be actualized by Lehman Construction out of California Missouri. Construction of the bridge along with a 1.4 million dollar roundabout is planned to take eight to nine months and is due to be completed sometime in the fall of 2018. That’s assuming that Mother Nature is agreeable during that period of time!

One of the big concerns is that of motorists and emergency personnel who must cross at this bridge or fave a forty minute detour! And while spokespersons for MODOT have assured everyone that the traffic will flow just fine, I took it upon myself to film ‘crossings’ of the bridge at times of rush hour in the coming months just to keep them honest and the public informed. This first video was taken on September 25, 2017 at about Noon on an otherwise quiet Monday. Others will follow, about a month apart…
