A farewell to TV!

‘It is the winter of my discontent’. So, why am I no longer content? Let me be concise and to the point as I know my limited readership’s time is precious….

Over the past weeks and months, I came to realize that there had been a large change in my daily viewing habits. At first, I couldn’t pin it down, but then it came to me. The TV was spending more and more time in an off condition! It was not that I went from a rabid viewer to one less rabid. I’d never spent much time watching it other than to check out Fox News and maybe catch a few movies from time to time. And, none of the other ‘sitcom’ channels held much appeal to an aging gnome such as myself. Most definitely not outlets like ABC and NBC as I’d boycotted those guys years ago. No, it was because my viewing habits had narrowed down to only a few programs and those had gone stale with the last election cycle. You see, I come to doubt and to question just about everything those people put out. I even began to suspect Fox News of some shenanigans in regards to their political slant. Who needs all those talking heads, I figured.

So, beginning on the first month of 2017, I plan to have my cable company come out and gather up their TIVO box and the dongles and whatever is associated with the TV side of cable and take it all away. I do plan to keep my internet as I still enjoy that evolving world so much. And, I’ll still have plenty of movies to watch via the net anytime I want to. Sweet.
