The spring of some discontent!

All ready it would seem that 2016 would not be the best of years for my aging Republic. As this is an election year, the swirls of political intrigue are deep and strong. Both the front runners share very high levels of ‘unlikability’ ratios among the general electorate. (I think Donald is slightly ahead, at this time). Seriously, no one one likes, respects or trusts either Trump or Hillary, but those will be our choices come the fall. One is a blowhard elitist while the other a certified crook. And yet, they seem to be the best my country can find to run for the highest office. Personally, I think we are all doomed to live another four years with little to no progress being made. The National Debt will continue to mount ever more upward with no relief in sight.

For myself, after slogging through a fairly decent spring month of April with my weather station in the middle of America, I find myself now somewhat disappointed by the cold winds of early May! Perhaps it’s my age or perhaps it is the rapidly changing persona of the ethnic landscape that troubles me. In any case, I’ve made a couple of decisions; 1) to stay inside more where I can at least control the temperature, 2) to keep the television turned off – I find the content very disturbing and 3) to not cast a vote this coming November – I would if there was a Presidential figure to vote for, but alas, we seem to have only clowns and jokers.

America, in general, is beginning to look a little more run down every time I go outside. It seems a much drabber landscape that greets my eyes, lacking much of the freshness that normally arrives with each spring. Yes, I think I must be getting older now and much less prone to swallow the BS the media tries to feed me. Somehow, looking at that blank flat screen seems rather refreshing….
