The Radiation Nation!

USA

As the world toddles its way to 2017, I’ve begun to wonder…..

The map above, taken from the Radiation Network is somewhat emblematic, I think, of the growing paranoia that is growing all across the Republic. As the year 2016 moves from spring on into the summer and then to the fall months, Americans everywhere will be making a decision as to who will be heading the country as she plies troubled waters. Just possibly, this will be a make or break election concerning the survival of our way of life. The times we are in! They could not be more interesting!

Almost everywhere you look, these days, there are very real problems abounding. Within our own borders, we are struggling in a mighty fashion. To wit, with a stalled out economy, lackluster jobs (and job incomes), a porous southern border that grows worst with each passing hour… well, the list of challenges does seem endless, doesn’t it? And then, there is that pesky old International scene! Wars and rumors of wars are now broadcast daily by media channels. [Apparently, our lack of leadership, these past eight years, has left a vacuum into which some not very nice people have gladly moved]. Today, Europe is in a shambles as it suffers the impact of millions of refugees from the Middle East. Russia is currently eyeing the Baltic’s with very hungry eyes even as they move into Syria on a permanent basis. Meanwhile, the left wing-nuts over in in Iran and North Korea are moving as fast as their little feet will carry them towards nuclear tipped missiles. Even some super powers, like China, who find themselves on very shaky economic legs are rapidly militarizing islands they have no rightful claim to. Now that I think of it, this insane world mess would make for a great thriller novel were it not for the fact that it was so damn real!

According to the ‘experts’, whoever they are, the US can expect a weapon of mass destruction to be unleashed on our soil sometime in the future. Such a weapon could take one of three forms; a biologic, a mass hacker attack or a nuke of one type or another. (Heck, we could see all three used at once)! Now wouldn’t that be an interesting day to wake up to? I could just see our current leader Obama, immediately after such a disaster, pointing his fingers and then drawing some more of those damn lines of his in wild abandon….. Well, the media would have a good time of it, at any rate.

Of the three type of attacks, I mentioned, I feel the one that would have the longest lasting effects would be of the nuclear variety. While the biologics would tend to degrade rather rapidly and our hacked networks could be restored in just days, a nuclear device that was properly placed could be the gift that just kept on giving! For instance, any device that was of relatively high yield, placed in the western US at low altitude which had a shell of ‘dirty’ isotopes could send up a plum of radioactive dust the would overspread the US in just a matter of days! Clean up would be almost impossible and the residual effects felt for decades to come. I would venture that would be something of a challenge for a country that already has more than enough on her plate!
