Radiation readings posted on the net! What the heck for?

nukeI take background radiation readings using a device in my home and post the results in three minute increments increments on site known as https://xively.com. The measurements are in micro Rads per hour and generally fall into the 11 to 12 uRh range. That’s the safe level of background radiation we all normally get each and every day!

On a few occasions, I’ve had friends ask me why I bother to even do something like this. My answer is simple, straightforward and chilling. I told them that these levels are going to change, at some point, and will more than likely go up. Why would they, you might ask. One author, writer Hamilton Nolan put the chances as high as 68%, in his lifetime, while most others hover much lower down the scale. For my part I feel the odds, over the next ten years, will escalate according to how fast some Middle East nations achieve nuclear status. The are a few out there, Iran comes to mind, that would jump at the chance at delivering a MIRV right up the old tailpipe of America. They understand that a few strategically delivered strikes could plunge this country of mine into a long term collapse. A return, to the Dark Ages as the inability to deliver essential utilities services like power could go on for months! I understand this, the Congress understands it and you can bet your bottom dollar that the mullah’s are very learned in the area of making warfare. As a matter of fact, making an American’s life hell on earth is even written into their bible! So, to me it’s not a question of if, but of when…

rad_dataTo that end, I like to track radiation levels situated as I am in the center portion of the US. If you’d like to visit that site, you can access this click-able area at www.taneyservices.com!
