My beef about beef!

ImageWhenever I’ve complained about the rising cost of living, I have a friend that will often proclaim, ‘Well, this ain’t the 70’s anymore, ya moron!’

So true! It’s most assuredly not the twentieth century either! Actually, it’s the 21st Century and things have gotten pretty damn shoddy for a lot of us hard working Americans! Continuing high unemployment, rising energy costs and an aging infrastructure now plague our Republic from sea to shining sea!

But, that’s not what really bothers me today. What really sticks in my gut is the cost of this lousy steak! The little gem, pictured here, set me back a buck and a quarter! It’s all of two tenths of a pound and, to add insult to injury, I know it’ll be tough as nails to eat once it gets cooked!

Somehow, some way, I’ve found myself caught between two classes of people; the rich who have a lot, the poor who get a lot (from our Nanny government) and then there’s my class – the working class that’s getting plenty of one thing and one thing only – the shaft! Well, I guess that’s my beef and I’m stuck with it for now….at least until the next election!
