“God day” squeaked a tinny male voice from the box. “Would you care to try our delicious Chicken Nuggets meal deal today?”

‘Uh, no, I would really like….’ That’s as far as I got. “Yes OK then, that will be one Chicken McNugget super-sized special with a Coke. That comes to $7.60 sir. Please drive up to the next window.” This was immediately followed by a deep guttural noise that could have be electronic or human. It was hard to tell.

“Uh no, no….I wanted a Big Mac and a medium fries, actually” I stammered to the little metal box from which a steady humm was now coming.

“Sqorsch your didagualm morshey” , was the reply from the grill which now looked to be also smoking slightly. I sighed and assumed the communication for the correct order had made it through and crept forward. Ten minutes later, I pulled up to the first window aka the McPay portal. (There are always dual windows working at a McDonalds – at one you pay and at the other you get your food like it was some kind of reward). “That’ll be $7.60 sir, said a cute little thing that looked to be all of 16.” Her mouth formed a silent ‘o’ as she held out a tiny hand in my direction.

“That can’t be right”, I stammered through a throat that was a little tight with concern. “I just ordered a Big Mac and a medium fry!” I looked through the window at the young lady and immediately saw trouble. Her face now looked like one big question mark!

“Sir, I just relieved the guy that was taking orders and this is just absolutely my first day!” She spread her hands out to each side as she said this. A pout then began to form on her lips. To tell the truth, my own eyes were getting a little crossed at that point. And, I had to think quickly as the big looking guy in line behind me was slowly pounding his steering wheel. I briefly wondered if he had had a bad day or that maybe he just liked pounding stuff.

Well, maybe I subconsciously really did want Chicken McNuggets after all. Giving up, I handed her a ten spot and waited for my change. In short order, I was handed a fiver, three singles and two pennies. Hmm. Maybe I’ll order from this place more often, I thought. Quickly pocketing the money, I pulled ahead before she said anything more. (My great McGetaway)! Really though, two pennies?

When I got to the ‘McPayout’ window, miracles of miracles, my order was ready to go. I grabbed my bag, sat it on the seat next to me and motored on home. Once at the dinner table, I reached in and grabbed my chicken sandwich. Oh, and the Apple Dippers were pretty tasty too.

As to my reasons. Hmm. That might be a long list. But, OK, let’s go with the main complaints I have at this juncture in time:

1)      Repeated and aggravating sim and region crashes for no apparent reason. This has been going on for YEARS! SL has given a lot of lip service to the issue, but to my knowledge has never come up with a solution. Time to fix it or admit it!

2)      Decreasing interpersonal bang for the buck. In case no one has mentioned it, the population of SL seems to be dwindling. Part of the reason for joining and paying for the Premium services was the idea of having others to talk with. At the current rate of attrition, I feel that in a few months I may have the world all to myself. (An exaggeration, but you get my drift).

3)      The Service and Help Portal they offer is cold and indifferent. You can never talk to a real person when you have a problem. Contrast that to a company like Amazon where it’s like talking to family. And, I don’t even pay them $32 bucks a quarter for the privilege!

4)      Too dam much crap has built up in this virtual world over the years! It’s in the skies, on the ground and just about everywhere you look on the Mainland. Getting around is like working your way through a minefield in many locations!

5)      My avatar is situated on land on a sim that I really like and yet you cannot talk on it. You can on others, just not on the one where I have land. It that kosher?

Think, I’ll stop at just five for now. Won’t matter much anyway after I pull the cord. And, that’s a shame too. SL had many great possibilities back a few years ago. Now, it’s getting just a bit to much like the real world I live in right now.

Perhaps not every night, but on many nights at 5PM Eastern Standard Time, Glenn Beck’s program on GBTV becomes a torrent of accusations directed at individuals like President Obama and George Soros! In elegant style, he strikes out at their conduct, policies and even their moral fiber. Honestly, I don’t see how either of these individuals take it in the derriere the way they do? The flogging of their characters is gruesome, very detailed and rather sickening. So, why are they not responding? Hmm?

Hold onto your garters Dorothy – it’s certainly not Kansas anymore! Along with the explosion of techno-everything in our physical world, there has also been the evolution of virtual worlds where the hearts and minds of lovers (young and old alike) can get tied up in knots! I’m referring to online social worlds like Second Life where les amoureux is heating up the internet servers like no ones business. And, with all this desire, can come problems of the heart and mind if you’re not careful.

“Ryan Jerome was enjoying his first trip to New York City on business when the former Marine Corps gunner walked up to a security officer at the Empire State Building and asked where he should check his gun.

That was when Jerome’s nightmare began. The security officer called police and Jerome spent the next two days in jail.

The 28-year-old with no criminal history now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three and a half years in prison. If convicted, his sentence could be as high as fifteen years.

In my opinion, the left-wing Democratic officials there are a disgrace and an abomination to thinking men everywhere. Never mind that there already exists a burdensome body of legislation and regulations for handling infractions by companies who attempt to pirate the property of someone else. A Democrat will not be content until they have taken ‘just another small’ bite out of the hide of freedom via more and more regulations. Just look at their record! Over the past few years, they have gone into orgasmic overdrive in an effort to bury small businesses under so much paperwork that many have since thrown their hands up and have left for foreign shores. (I can’t say I blame them either).

In truth, not much is left now to regulate in small town America. Mom and Pa shops that can no longer make it in the ‘real world’ have opted for the ‘virtual one’ as a way of making ends meet. (A move that is driving Democrats into a slobbering frenzy)! You see, the internet is perhaps the one gleaming hope still left in the otherwise dark tunnel that was American entrepreneurship. Like the Wild West, it is wide open and full of heroes and villains alike. Also, like the Wild West, it is full of promise for those who want to work and prosper. Today, thousands of new businesses have been springing to supply goods and services to a world stage and by and large it’s said to be working well. And, of course, the Democratic Party along with their Socialist sidekicks would like nothing more than to kill this golden hen too. You see, it just doesn’t fit into the ‘government controls all’ model of world governance!  Harry Reid, poor soul, appeared to be almost drooling at the drafting of the so-called PIPA bill. Even in reaction to a veritable flood of protests, he has not canceled it, but rather has postponed it…for now. Rest assured my fellow Americans that the Democratic ‘Machine of Social Destruction’ will craft another bill just like this one that will be designed to take a somewhat smaller bite. You see, smaller bites or ‘nibbling bills’ don’t attract as much attention! But, if enough of them pass, rest assured, the job will get done.

Listen up America. We now stand at a crossroad in the future of this great Republic. At this time, our country has been hijacked by what I feel are evil and despicable men. Theirs is a vision of greatness for them, not for us. I urge all able bodied men and women of voting age to take a stand and to take back this country by all legal means necessary. We can do it at the ballot box now or continue to watch the US of A transformed in to the US of Nothing.

According to an article that is appearing in Boston.com, President Obama is once more kowtowing to a small crowd of environmentalists who would like to see all energy exploration from coal or oil grind to a complete halt in the United States. Their unstated mantra – “let the masses walk”!

So, I’ll just forge ahead and speak for them in this post. Yes, not only is global warming happening but its happening way faster than previously thought! Contrary to what the government would have you believe, scientific studies now coming out of England have shown that major glaciers are encountering warm waters which are melting them form the bottom up. This is in addition to the melting going on from warmer than normal surface temperatures. A dual process that is vastly accelerating the rate at which fresh water is being dumped into the oceans of the world. What was once thought to take centuries to accomplish is now occurring in less than a decade! Some experts feel that is possible the thermohaline circulation of the northern seas could be slowed to the point where they stop! Here’s a quote: “Scientists call this density-driven component of the meridional overturning circulation the thermohaline circulation; thermo meaning heat and saline meaning salt. Without this density-driven process, deepwater currents would no longer be created. The global conveyor belt would grind to a halt.”

They then went on to say that “there is strong evidence that such a shutdown has happened in the past, drastically altering the world’s climate in just a matter of years. Eleven thousand years ago, ice age glaciers were retreating. In central Canada, an immense glacial lake called Lake Agassiz occupied an area larger than all the Great Lakes. Suddenly the dams holding Lake Agassiz collapsed. The contents of the entire lake rushed into the North Atlantic by way of the St. Lawrence River. This massive infusion of fresh water diluted the polar seas to the point where the water was no longer dense enough to sink. The meridional overturning circulation likely ground to a stop. So there you have it. Perhaps all this heat will translate into a whole lot of cold in the not too distant future. What am I going to do about all this? Think I’ll go out and watch for an early spring.

Even though oil supplies are at an all time high, the fears associated with Middle East unrest have still driven US prices upward. A situation that is expected to get worst as the year moves forward.

It is now understood by moi that unless the US and Israel tow the line in regards to Iran’s global objectives, there exists a strong likelihood that oil supplies could be cutoff right about the time that the President is trying to score his re-election. Some pundits have even suggested that Obama make a trip to Iran where he could have the opportunity to bow repeatedly to Archmadickajad (sp?) on international TV to aid in appeasing this nut case. (It seems that public humiliation counts for a lot with Islamic extremists)!

What Energy?

On a related topic, the Administration appears to be going all out in its efforts to curtail energy exploration in the United States. As a matter of fact, the EPA has been busy closing down coal fired power plants all across the country because of their inability to meet air quality standards that have been pulled out of someones ass hat! This happening at a time when countries, like China, are firing up new coal burning plants as fast as they can go. Rumor also has it that the EPA rank and file will soon be sporting a new uniform consisting of brown shirts and black jack boots. However, not true is Washington scuttlebutt that says Obama has been trying to grow a small square mustache.

Here’s your choice America!

Well, it’s looking more and more certain that the Presidential race for 2012 will center around two men. We’ll soon get to choose between a black wanna be socialist and a whiter than white stuffed shirted elitist. Neither of which seem to have a clue as to how to bail our sorry asses out of debt. However, they should make for good TV this spring and summer as I feel the ‘sparks will be a flying’. I’m also confident that come November, this country will be completely divided and polarized; the likes of which haven’t been seen since the Civil War. (Just imagine the world’s reaction if we were go to war again with ourselves)! I wonder which side Canada would be on and, my oh my, how about the poor Mexicans as millions of illegals try to scuttle back to the safety of their own country! And maybe just maybe, somewhere in a dark cell in southern California, I could imagine Charlie Manson yelling, ‘Helter Skelter. Finally! Helter Skelter’!
