I think most of us would agree that running an economy the size of America is a daunting task to say the least. Billions and billions of dollars are spent each and every day goods and services are produced. To do so effectively requires that someone in the administration understands how business is done and who also has effective control of that business on a day to day basis.

Now let’s look at the current leadership of America. Most of the people advising Obama on economic issues either lack any real world experience themselves or are grossly incompetent. (Take your pick). Add to this a hornet’s nest of self interested Representatives (435) and that God awful cesspool that is the Senate (100), stir in reams and reams of regulations and what you get is no picnic.

Even the slowest amongst us can say with certainty that if you spend what you ain’t got, someone is gonna come down or your head sooner or later. Well, we’ve certainly gotten the attention of the Chinese who are looking at the latest act of insanity with narrowed eyes. I’m referring to Ben Bernanke, a man who I feel has nothing in his head but dead tissue, and his approval of printing 600 billion of what is in effect phony money at a time when all the money markets are soft and scared. They also did the old pocket switch with 1.7 trillion in mortgage securities. A move that’s fooling no one.

Ultimately, diluting the money pool, continued massive spending, failure to heed warnings from foreign money markets added to a Congress that reminds one of the Keystone cops on meds and you have a recipe for disaster.

Who is going to be forced to pay up first? Why the average John Doe in the street of course. This will happening right at a time where jobs are difficult to find, the value of the dollar is falling and millions are being tossed out of their homes. Now we have the specter of massive inflation creeping into the land. Actually, when it hits the grocery stores early next year, I’m not sure it will be creeping, just perhaps it will be rampaging!

While it may come as no surprise to those in the business of selling homes. May 2010 saw the lowest number of new home sales yet. New home sales declined 32.7% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 300,000 last month, down from an downwardly revised 446,000 in April, the Commerce Department reported Wednesday. Sales year-over-year fell 18.3%.

This is the slowest sales pace since the Commerce Department began tracking data in 1963. The prior record was set in September 1981, when new homes sold at an annual rate of 338,000.

“We expected a slowdown, but the extent of this decline was a surprise,” said Anika Khan, an economist at Wells Fargo. The figure was even worse than her relatively pessimistic forecast of an annual rate of 380,000 in May.

Khan expects home sales to remain depressed through the third quarter as home construction continues to contract and lending standards remain tight. But, she said, sales will hopefully pick up some in the fourth quarter.

The Powersite sewer project will affect about 385 existing commercial and residential structures within and neighboring the Valley View Village and Powersite Subdivisions located approximately one mile southeast of Forsyth, Missouri.

The project owner is the Taney County Regional Sewer District.  Great River Engineering has been retained by the District to plan and design the project and to provide engineering services during construction. On their website for this project, you can signup to obtain notifications as to the progress of the installation of this new sewer system. If you have questions or concerns, there is also a place to email the Great River Engineering group with questions. I just sent one in myself on hearing rumors to the effect that some residents may have to have sewage grinder pumps installed at their locations. This would, no doubt, increase costs and maintenance fees for some residents if true.

According to my best sources, this project is currently in the surveying phase and once a bid is accepted will move into the implementation phase in late 2010 or early 2011. My question is how much will this project affect economically those who may be on fixed incomes or unemployed due to current problems with the National economy?
