The National Debt Clock Tics Onward!

cat

A letter sent to me by my friend Bubba…

After checking The National Debt Clock on the net, I cannot help but remember the 1992 Presidential Election and candidate Ross Perot with his little charts and graphs that depicted the need for this country to go on a ‘spending diet’. Well, boy did you ever get that one wrong Mr. Perot.  Here we are now, well into 2009 and if you check the lower right corner of the debt clock page you will see that each of us now owe a little over $3000. What’s the problem man? That ain’t so much! The country is doing just fine, and personally, I still have another Visa card with some ‘room’ on it.

You know its kind of sad to see someone like you Mr. Perot. Your worth what? Something like only five billion. And, you had to work most of your life for it too! Not me. What with all the free federal programs, I as happy as a pig in mud.  I mean just look at our current progress and congress… they don’t seem concerned at all. I even understand they may be getting ready to pass a Second Stimulus Package. Let’s crank those printing presses up another notch and please make sure you get my address right this time. I’m unemployed and I’m running a bit short on chips and beer.
